BANCF Parade of Homes – Gainesville 2016

Hey everyone! Just a warning that this will be  a several series blog with more details since there was SO much to see this year!

Yesterday I (Rebecca Johnson) had the honor of being a judge for the 2016 BANCF Spring Parade of Homes in IMG_0455Gainesville, FL. The day started at 8am ended around 3pm and in that time we saw 25 homes.

The group met at Peach Valley Cafe off 34th street and if you haven’t been you should go, now.

After breakfast we headed out and saw so many amazing homes that it is hard to mention everyone, so I am going to give my top 5 picks.

5.Finley Woods

Norfleet Construction knocked it out of the IMG_0315park this year! Their parade home was a 2727 square foot 4 bedroom home with a bonus room. The design, selection of colors, lighting, details, and staging made this home stunning. The exterior had a northern cottage feel with accents and loads of character. My favorite details in the home was the farm sink with apron front in the kitchen, the enormous walk-in closet in the master and the master bathroom tub.

4. Estates of Wilds Plantation
WarringAfter Finley Woods we headed to the Estates of Wilds Plantation where there were several homes, but I only had eyes for one! Warring Homes, Inc had an amazing New American style with a touch of mid century modern. This 3,950 square foot home offered 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a study, and a bonus room, and a 3 car garage. For me this home was all about the kitchen island and exposed brick wall in the dining room. Looking for a HUGE laundry room? Nailed it! The charm  in this home made it stand out in the neighborhood.

3. Arbor Greens Robinshore, Inc had 3 beautiful homes this year, but my favorite was the 3rd one, theIMG_0481 Fiano plan. The house was styled perfectly and the layout was ideal for a larger family needing space. The home had 5 bedrooms 4.5 bathrooms with a loft area upstairs. The open layout downstairs worked well at keeping the family gathered in comfort or entertaining. Other touches included extensive tile work in the master bathroom, stone work and framing in the family room, and an amazing accent wall in the master suite.

2. Hillcrest

This has always been one of my favorite Gainesville neighborhoods. This year Leonard IMG_0561Sprague Construction had a stylish and exciting home at the top of the hill. 2808 square feet  with 4 bedrooms and a bonus room. Where do I start?? The home had little touches throughout that I haven’t seen in Gainesville before. A window cutout at the entry that focused on the pool with travertine surrounding it was framed out and felt picturesque.IMG_0578 If you’ve ever watched “Fixer Upper” on HGTV then you will probably fall in LOVE here. The stair railing reminded me of several I had seen on the show. The kitchen was spacious and the floor plan was laid out well considering the plot plan. Upstairs there was a luxurious master bathroom with a unique chandelier that’s to die for. The home has a few secrets that you will have to investigate to discover, but it doesn’t disappoint.

1 Town of Tioga
The home on the tour that made my heart sing?? Hands down Pridgen Homes was speaking my love language! The extensive trim, the built-ins, the lighting, flooring, barn doors, a loft in the second bedroom, and everything just worked. It was a fresh look and feel to the area. The home offers a sizable 3,482 heated and cooled foot print with 4 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and a bonus room. I am not normally a pool person, but I won’t lie this one caught my eye….it offered a pergola with stone fireplace area which made the crystal clear water of the pool call my name.  I can’t describe everything so let’s just look at some photos!
